Jyn honestly hadn't expected anything less. She was grateful for the way he held her steady, grateful for that answering chuckle, the earnestness in his eyes, grateful for the way he was treating her like she was something worthy of such care.

Yours.

His hand cupped one side of her face. His lips went to the other: her cheek, her throat. One of his knees braced on the bunk, between her legs, so he could control their descent—keep it smooth and gradual. He pressed them close together, chests and thudding hearts, every degree of the way; his hand at her back momentarily clenching the fabric of her shirt, then smoothing there.

He knew a lot about this sort of situation—had been in it many times before for reasons he wasn't proud of: exchange for information, embed a false identity, run a diversion, preserve a cover story, be a sacrifice. But his heart had never beat so hard before. It might be the very first time he was here because he wanted to be, with someone he actually wanted… No. Adored.

Only ever yours.

Still, Jyn could hardly believe that any of this was even happening - that Cassian was kissing her, touching her, holding her steady even as he guided her to lie back, and she trusted that he would not steer her wrong.

She wanted this, after all, had wanted it and wanted Cassian for so long, and if this did turn out to be only just another figment of her imagination, she wanted to be able to commit it - to memorize him and the way he looked and felt and sounded so she could pull them up when she was alone and lonely and pining for him.

Jyn didn't have much expertise in this arena, intimacy, sex, love, they were all mysteries to her that she never anticipated being able to solve. She held onto him a little tighter, certain of one thing, at least, and that was how much she never wanted to let him go.

He buried his face in the curve of her neck and shoulder, kissing her there but also taking a moment to breathe.

His hand, meanwhile, gently, gently, massaged her stomach, then crept lower, under her waistband.

She welcomed him into the circle of her arms, careful not to hold on too tightly, even though all she wanted was some sort of physical reassurance that he wasn't a figment of her imagination, that he wasn't going anywhere.

Her pulse pounded erratically in her throat as he curled in closer, kissed her and took her in, and touched her in a way that she had never experienced before. The muscles of her stomach rippled as she took a deep but shaky breath, her voice tremulous and conflicted when she found enough of it to inform him -

"I've - I've never ... "

His hand stilled, holding her gently, and he pulled back just enough to be able to meet her eyes.

"Nothing you don't want," he said softly. "Ever. Okay? You don't have to do anything for me to be glad to be with you."

Jyn didn't know if she felt worthy of such care, and she was silent for a moment as her throat and eyes both burned from the strain of holding back unshed tears. Still, she didn't look away, didn't try to hide what she was thinking or feeling, needing Cassian to be certain that she was certain of what it was that she wanted.

"I never really wanted it before - ", she began, her voice soft but clear, not hesitant in the slightest. "But I do now. I want it with you."

She paused then, her brow furrowing in thought, her fingers tentative but gentle as she traced along his jawline. "Nothing you don't want, alright?"

…Did she know or guess…

…he didn't want to make this about that. About him.

Because it was just the same as she'd said, even if actions had been opposite. He'd never really wanted it before, but he did now with her.

"I promise," he said, and leaned forward to kiss under her eyes.

There was clearly still plenty that needed to be discussed, although now was currently not the time.

Truthfully, she had worried that the admission would push Cassian away, or completely derail their momentum, but she felt reassured as he pressed kisses underneath one eye, and then the other.

"Good", she murmured, deliberate as she wound her fingers into his shirt and not so subtly urged him closer.

He moved where she led, pressing their bodies together, not trying to hide the effect all this was having on him, not making that the center of focus either. His fingers were attentive, moving her stray hairs away from her neck, while his other hand dipped under her back to cup her shoulderblade. And he kissed her face like he was mapping it, not missing a detail.

Jyn's cheeks colored a dusky pink, but she wasn't uncomfortable as she welcomed him closer, allowed the breaching of her personal space, the slow, deliberate exploration of her face, her throat, the parts of her that were still covered by clothing.

She tried to commit Cassian to memory, too, as she let her fingers wander and she traced along one cheekbone, down the bridge of his nose, even making an attempt to smooth out the little worry knot that took up residence between his brows.

He pulled back just enough to laugh, the angle of his head following the movement of her fingers.

His hands found her waistband and paused there, the tips of his fingers just slipping under. "Yes?"

What a beautiful noise, that laugh, and Jyn knew that she wanted to hear it more often, to be the cause of it. Few things, she thought, could give her greater pleasure.

And then she felt his fingertips graze bare skin, and she couldn't help the soft shiver that she offered in response, her tongue darting out to wet suddenly dry lips, her voice soft but steady when she answered.

"Yes."

He leaned forward to press a quick kiss to her lips; then lowered his whole body to be at the same level as her skin as he bared it, kissing her thighs and then, with another confirming glance, between them.

Jyn sighed as she returned the kiss and settled back against the too-flat pillow and regain control of her pounding heart as she watched Cassian divest her of her trousers and settle between her thighs, but no, the force of her heartbeat thundered in her ears even as she wordlessly nodded her understanding, granting him permission to continue.

He returned the nod with a smile, then lowered his head and began to make love to her with his mouth.

His hand slipped to the small of her back, a gentle supportive pressure.

Jyn had an idea of what Cassian was going to do once he'd settled lower on the bunk, but nothing could have prepared her for the actual act. She gasped sharply, and then bit her bottom lip, her teeth digging in painfully as she tried and failed to keep some sense of composure.

Through it all, though, she was glad for his palm pressed warmly against her back, unobtrusive and steadying.

His eyes flickered up to her face at the gasp, but she didn't seem to want him to stop. He kept up the gentle pressure below while he worked above, and his free hand moved, also gently, onto her stomach.

She did not want him to stop. Jyn could feel her inner thighs as they began quaking, and while she might not have known much about sex or intimacy or anything of the sort, she was almost certain that that was a good sign.

A momentary pause, and then her shaky fingers rested atop his hand, searching out the comfort of the contact.

He raised his eyes again at the contact; confirming it still wasn't to stop him, his eyes crinkled the way they did when he smiled; and as his eyes flickered back down, his hand drifted over for its fingers to brush the back of hers.

On the contrary, the last thing Jyn wanted was for Cassian to stop. She had never been so overcome, never felt anything quite like the sensations he was causing.

She wasn't so far gone yet to not notice that hint of a smile in his eyes, and her heart beat a little faster in her joy. Jyn didn't have the right words, couldn't even begin to find them in her hazy brain, but somehow, she hoped he knew exactly what it was that she was feeling - exactly what it was that she felt for him.

He certainly redoubled his efforts with relish. As his fingers threaded and intertwined with hers.

And Jyn's toes curled over and over and over again, a sensation that she was totally unused to ... but almost wished she could experience again. She squeezed his hand and panted for breath, unable to catch it, her soft little noises growing louder by the second.

He didn't let up, wanting to give her continuous sensation and build… but for the barest instant, he moved just far enough back to breathe, "Dámelo. Give it to me, Jyn."

Of course he was completely dedicated to the task. Of course he was thinking of her more than he was himself. And his was a command that she wanted to follow. As she trembled underneath the ministrations of hands and mouth, she knew that it was imminent, she was going to do just that.
