Not that she didn't appreciate the thanks, but truth be told, it still made her a little uncomfortable. For as much as she wanted to believe that she was just doing what was right, her upbringing and subsequent adult experiences have taught her otherwise.

Still, she didn't regret what she had done.

She didn't flinch away from the touch, and wished -

"Rest well", she finally offered, her voice thick as she finally found enough determination to get to her feet. "I'll see you tomorrow."

And with that, she took her leave ... before she lost the determination and decided to stay.
