…what was the right word. Flummoxed? Stupefied? Speechless, for sure.

She'd skated right over your droid friend. The tactical, strategic point of having a killdroid, with Imperial markings, at his disposal. The fact that he had a hidden ship in the city. The fact of his false identity and that he was spying on them, full stop. Only mentioned to warn him.

No, all the prioritizing was on… them. Precisely the things he'd been dying so desperately to tell her voluntarily, were the things that seemed to be her dominant takeaways.

"It's all true," he said at last. "I've never felt in more danger on an assignment than I have with you. Being in physical peril was never as risky because I've never been so tempted to betray my own protocols before. …And I'm doing it right now."

His gaze on her became a little less piercing, flickering slightly away to gather himself, find the strength to keep looking directly at her. "You don't… want to know… who I really am? What my assignment is? You… don't… want to be the one to capture me? Or worry what I might do to make sure you don't?"
