Perhaps it looked like shell-shock to the officers, and maybe part of it was, but mostly, Jyn was worried. Would this hasten an ending she already felt coming? She hardly even registered his answering for her when the officer offered a ride home, even if it felt unbearably silent the entire way there.
They disembarked, but he made no move to enter their building. He wouldn't even look at her, so Jyn was surprised when he asked about going to the park instead.
All she wanted was to take inventory of whatever injuries she had accrued during the course of the struggle, to take a long, hot shower to wash everything away, and maybe to cuddle with Argi in order to feel some semblance of normality.
